Warehouse structure

General

The warehouse optimizations offer several functions for restructuring master data and inventories based on historical data. The activation of this storage option is done in consultation with COGLAS.

ABC-analysis
Based on the customer orders booked in the system (full pallet transport orders and picking picks / compartment accesses), a classification of the items into categories according to turnover frequency is carried out. The thresholds of the individual values are defined by the user and calculated on the basis of the determined movement data.

Configuration

Threshold definition
The percentage size per ABC-value can be chosen freely and adds up. However, all entered values can reach a maximum of 100% in total. An overrun is inadmissible.

As a basis, the sum of all compartment accesses (picking picks) + sum of all full pallet transports is determined per article and held against the total quantity of all compartment accesses and VP transports.

Reference

Only articles that had at least one access in the specified period are considered in the analysis. Items without any transaction will be deliberately ignored. The previous ABC value is not removed or updated.

Button Description
WA date / time period Defines the period to be considered for analysis. Only picks and shipments for sales orders whose actual goods issue date is within the set range are considered.
Start analysis Starts the analysis based on the entered threshold values and the desired time period.

Reference: The runtime may take some time if a large period is selected. To relieve the daily business, it is recommended to start the analysis at the end of the working day!

Calculation with new thresholds Calculates again the assignment of the ABC-values to the particular articles. Compared to “BUTTON Start analysis”, the historical data for the selected period does not have to be determined again. The calculation time is therefore significantly shorter!
Use results Transfers the determined or manually defined ABC-values to the article master data. All changes are logged in the data interface history.

Filter

The results can be filtered by the following criterias:

  • Show all results
  • Show only suggested changes
  • Show only certain ABC-suggestions

Explanation result displays
The determined articles are sorted by “Number of accesses” by default. Further sorting options are optionally available.

Checkbox name Description
Number Numbering of all results for better orientation
Article Displays the article number for which the following values were calculated.
Quantity Total quantity of individual units shipped in the selected period for the base unit of measure of the article.
percentage quantity Sets the total quantity of units shipped against the total quantity of all units shipped in the selected period.
Number of accesses Sum of all compartment accesses (picking) as well as transports of entire storage units for completed sales orders in the selected period.
percentage number of accesses Plots the total number of accesses of the article against the total quantity of all accesses in the selected period.
Cumulated percentages Adds up the “percentage of accesses” in ascending order of numbers, as an orientation of the specified thresholds.
ABC classification The proposed ABC value to the given item based on the historical data and entered parameters. Can be manually overridden.
Use Defines whether the determined ABC-value for the item is to be taken into account or ignored in “Use results”.
