In logistics, stock transfer is a process in which a storage unit is booked out and booked back in at a more suitable storage location. This can happen for space reasons, but there are also process-related relocations. As a rule, the capacity, the construction, the driving behavior and the aisle-bound nature of the storage equipment used are of importance. It is quite important to achieve the best possible throughput performance.

By scanning the destination storage location, the stock transfer of the storage unit is performed. Alternatively, the target storage location can be defined via the location selection.

For industrial trucks with double fork length, there is also the possibility of picking up multiple pallets at the same time and depositing them at the same destination storage location.

With planned stock transfer, storage units can be moved within the warehouse using predefined strategies. The storage location search is handled by the system.

The strategy type “Internal” is intended for this function. Depending on the configuration of the strategy (“Generate transfer orders” option), the storage units are either posted directly to the new storage location or a transfer order is generated that must be processed by an employee (“Internal” category of transfer orders).

The stock transfer can be initiated from the main menu under “Stock overview” or “Storage unit”:

Here you can select a SU unit and book it to a new storage location via “Transfer SU”.
